The Celtics beat the Houston Rockets 102-91 in game 6 at The Summit to win the team’s 14th NBA title. Cedric Maxwell is the MVP of the final series. Earlier, the Celtics had beaten the Philadelphia 76ers 91-90 in game 7 at Boston Garden on May 3, 1981 to win the NBA Eastern Conference championship series, after having trailed 3 games to 1 in the series.
